Qatar’s many friends in the international community are helping the country a lot during the ongoing Gulf crisis, Nepalese social worker Dr Dev Kaji Dangol said yesterday.

“Though it has been over three months since the Saudi-led blockade began, there has not been a shortage of any kind in the markets here,” he told Qatar Urdu Radio’s live radio show Haqeeqat yesterday.

“Qatar Chamber has said that the country has enough stocks of food and other consumer goods to last the next 12 months. In addition, the demand of perishable food items in Qatar is being looked after by the friendly states of Turkey, Oman and many others.

Qatar has an estimated 350,000 residents from Nepal working in various fields and Dr Dangol gave a message in Nepalese at the end of the show telling listeners to follow authentic news and not give heed to propaganda against Qatar by the news agencies of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Haqeeqat, which aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar, is a joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corporation Urdu Radio.

It is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107. Log on to Qatar Urdu Radio on Facebook and ‘@QatarUrduRadio’ on Twitter for feedback and comments about the show.
