NHRC Chief Held Meetings with Participating Heads of Human Rights Bodies in AlGeria

On the sidelines of the General Assembly of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions, Dr. Ali Bin Smaikh Al Marri, President of National Human Rights Committee of Qatar held today three separate meetings, i.e. with Mrs. Fafa Zerrougui, President of the National Council for Human Rights, Algeria, Abdullah Bin Shouine Al Hosani, Chairman of the Omani Human Rights Commission and Faiq of Human Rights of Arab Republic of Egypt.

Both top officials of Human Rights bodies of Qatar and Egypt discussed case of Qatari students who are studying in Egypt and owners of properties of Qatari citizens who were affected by the siege measures and their inability to follow up their property in Egypt.

Dr. Al-Marri stressed the need to move quickly by the National Council of Egypt to find urgent solutions to these outstanding issues. Mohamed Faeq, President of the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt promised to solve the issues of Qatari students and property owners.

The National Human Rights Committee stressed on National Council for Human Rights Egypt on the need to work together in order to  protect human rights situation from politically victimization.

Dr AlMarri greeted Miss fava and congratulated her on her new responsibilities as President of the new session of the Network

While thanking Al Hosani for the achievements of the Omani Commission's presidency in the previous session of the Network, The two sides discussed the importance of strengthening Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the field of human rights and activating joint activities between Argentina and Qatar.

During the meetings, Al-Marri discussed means of cooperation between head of the Human Rights bodies/  institutions, and to take advantage of exchange of experiences in regard to various human rights issues.
