Qatar: NHRC Chief Invites UNHCR Committee on Disables to Witness Tragic Cases

Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al-Marri, President National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) of Qatar met Ms. Catalina Devandas, Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities at UNHCR. During their meeting, Dr. AlMarri asked her to include in her report on the victimization of people by the siege countries the cases of disables separated from their families and those who were forced to leave hospitals such ads from Saudi Arabia.

During his briefing, NHRC Chief told that NHRC is monitoring and has documented such tragic cases of disabled people require special care affected from blockade along with large number of Gulf families.  Al-Marri stressed on the necessary measures and to send urgent appeals and letters to the concerned countries to clarify these cases and compensate the victims financially and morally due to unprecedented measures in human history.

He offered and invited UNHCR Committee on Disable people to visit state of Qatar where BNHRC will cooperate and identify those suffering with disabilities.  Dr. AlMarri told that NHRC has earlier also cooperated and provided all necessary support to the visiting delegates, missions representing various international prestigious institutions, organizations including UN fact finding Mission which reported on humanitarian violations as a result of siege of Qatar by the blockade states.
