Qatar Delegation Participates in 18th Global Symposium Geneva

On the sidelines of 18th Global Symposium Geneva, Mohammed Ali Al-Mannai, President of the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) of State of Qatar held meetings with Houlin Zhao, Secretary-General of the ITU, François Rancy, Director, ITU Radiocommunication Bureau and Brahima Sanou, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau in Geneva.

He is heading a Qatar delegation participating in  four day 18th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR), in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 9 -12, 2018, under the theme: “New Regulatory Frontiers”.

Around 600 delegates representing Administrations of ITU Member States, National Regulatory Authorities, Regional and International Organizations, ITU affiliated academic and research institutes are attending the annual symposium which will be addressed by 100 speakers attending from around the world.

The four-day event is hosting interactive panel discussions and presentations about thematic events around the “Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity – Policy and regulatory challenges and opportunities”. GSR also included high-level panel discussions about digital transformation, digital identity and protecting personal data. This is in addition to the Regional Regulatory Associations Meeting and the Chief Regulatory Officials (CRO) Meeting.

Mohammed Ali Al-Mannai, President of CRA said on this occasion that ' The ICT sector on a global level is evolving at incredible speed, in line with this, CRA participates in events like GSR, which is an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with other regulators, policy and decision makers, industry experts and stakeholders around the world, which will help the ICT sector to evolve in Qatar'.
