Qatar Central Depository Registers Bonds, T-Bills Issued by QCB for Q2 of 2018

Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) has registered bonds issued by Qatar Central Bank (QCB) for the second quarter of 2018 in its systems. Bonds were registered with a date of issue on the 3rd of June, including the first bond on the maturity date of the 3rd of June, 2023, with the value of QR 3.700 billion and a total number of bonds issued was 370,000, and the second bond on the maturity date of the 3rd of June, 2026, with value of QR 2.300 billion and a total number of bonds issued was 230,000.

The QCSD) has also registered treasury bills issued by Qatar Central Bank for the second quarter of 2018 in its systems. Treasury bills (T-Bills) were registered with a date of issue on the 5th of June.

The T-Bills included three-month treasury bills with the value of QR 250 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 25,000 and a maturity date of 09/09/2018. It also included six-month treasury bills issued with the value of QR 300 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 3,000 and a maturity date of 04/12/2018. The QCSD also registered nine-month treasury bills issued by QCB with the value of QR 200 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 20,000 and a maturity date of 05/03/2019.

QCSD amended the foreign ownership percentage in the shares of Qatar Fuel Company (WOQOD) to become 49 percent of the company's capital, equivalent to 48,718,532 shares.

This came in the monthly report issued by QCSD for June, featuring its main procedures during the month, which included custody, recording, management, acquisition, clearing and settlement of securities and derivatives and other financial instruments; the provision of related financial services; the transfer of ownership of executed contracts through trading and remittances; in addition to the implementation of all bookings and decommissioning and foreclosure operations at the request of the relevant parties. QCSD also updated a number of shareholders' statements and added new shareholders.

In its monthly report, the QCSD also provided figures and statistics illustrating the main activities carried out during June. In ownership transfer of the third market, the QCSD conducted 159 family transfers in June, compared to 168 in May, a decrease by 5.36 percent. It also conducted 556 inheritance transfers in June, compared to 414 in May, a rise by 34.3 percent. Fourteen exception transfer was made in June, compared to one in the previous month.

Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) added in its monthly report that the total number of defined shareholders reached 955 thousands and 756 shareholders in June, compared to 955 thousands and 723 in May, a rise by 0.003 percent. The number of shareholders who have a bank account in June reached 48 thousands and 962 shareholders, compared to 48 thousands and 792 in May, a change of 0.35 percent.

QCSD noted that shareholders should update their registered data and add their own bank accounts, which will make it easier for them to earn profits distributed by companies.

In June, 63 foreclosure operations were registered, compared to 70 operations in May, down by 10 percent. QCSD also registered 92 decommissioning operations, compared to 167 in the previous month, down 44.91 percent.

In addition, 79 account openings for new shareholders were registered in June, compared to 91 in May, down by 13.19 percent; 4,195 account statements were issued in June, compared to 7,777 statements in May, a decrease of 46.06 percent; 221 attestations were issued in June, compared to 448 in May, down 50.67 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of Qatari individual shareholders in June reached 279 thousands and 557, compared to 279 thousands and 546 in May, a change of 0.003 percent. The number of Qatari shareholding institutions in June reached 3 thousands and 802 shareholders, compared to 3 thousands and 801 in May, a change of 0.02 percent.

The number of non-Qatari individual shareholders in June reached 668 thousands and 323, compared to 668 thousands and 290 in May, a change of 0.004, while the number of non-Qatari shareholding institutions reached 4 thousands and 74 in June, compared to 4 thousand and 86 in May, a change of 0.02 percent.

The number of QCSD website's users in June was 940 users, compared to 1,232 in May, a decrease of 23.7 percent, and the browsing amounted to 3,766 in June, compared to 5,247 in May, down 39.3 percent.
