Tehran, 26 May 2025
On Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warmly welcomed the recent ceasefire and the restoration of peace between India and Pakistan, two historically estranged South Asian neighbors. Pezeshkian made these remarks during a joint press conference in Tehran with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is visiting Iran as part of his broader four-nation regional tour.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Sharif’s trip, spanning from May 25 to 30, includes stops in Türkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. It aims to address bilateral relations and matters of regional and international importance. During this tour, Sharif will also attend the International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, scheduled for May 29-30.
Pezeshkian stressed the importance of dialogue and the peaceful resolution of disputes for fostering sustainable development and regional stability. He emphasized that West and South Asia need security and peace now more than ever, and that positive engagement with neighboring countries and international partners is crucial. He expressed hope that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan would pave the way for resolving differences through dialogue, ultimately benefiting regional and global security. Pezeshkian also voiced hope for expanded political, economic, and cultural cooperation with Islamabad, while underlining the shared determination to secure the Iran-Pakistan border from terrorist activities.
Addressing the ongoing violence in Gaza, Pezeshkian denounced the Israeli aggression and urged Islamic countries to support the Palestinian cause. Echoing this sentiment, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine and condemned the killing of nearly 54,000 people in Gaza. Sharif also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving issues with India, including Kashmir, through peaceful dialogue in line with UN resolutions. He noted that Pakistan is open to cooperation on issues like trade and counter-terrorism, provided India is genuinely interested in engagement.
In his remarks, Sharif described his trip to Tehran as a historic opportunity to strengthen the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. He hailed the warm reception and praised the constructive discussions held between Iranian and Pakistani delegations. Sharif also expressed his country’s full support for Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected claims of discussing an interim agreement with the US during indirect nuclear negotiations, emphasizing Tehran’s right to peaceful enrichment of uranium. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, also met with Sharif and emphasized the importance of unity among Muslim countries and strengthening ties between Iran and Pakistan. Khamenei condemned the violence in Gaza and underscored the need for collective action by Muslim nations to halt Israeli crimes.
Sharif’s trip marks his second official visit to Tehran within the past year and reflects both countries’ commitment to addressing regional and international challenges together.

I was just searching for this information for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your website. I wonder what's the lack of Google strategy that do not rank this kind of informative websites in top of the list. Generally the top websites are full of garbage.
