Doha, 11 Sept 2025
The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced that, effective tomorrow (Friday), the Qatari national ID card will replace the health card for Qatari citizens when accessing healthcare services at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), and other healthcare facilities. This change will be implemented without any associated fees.
HE Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Public Health, has issued Decision No. (46) of 2025, officially repealing Decision No. (21) of 2023, which set the fees for obtaining and replacing health cards in cases of loss or damage.
The Ministry clarified that health cards for residents will remain valid and continue to be used under the current procedures. The Ministry urges all Qatari citizens to carry their national ID card when visiting healthcare facilities.
This decision is part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to streamline administrative processes, standardize official documentation across government services, and improve the overall patient experience.
