An exhibition held alongside the 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) 2026, which opened today in Doha, is showcasing major advancements in the global energy sector and underscoring LNG’s growing importance in supporting energy security worldwide.

Hosted at the Qatar National Convention Center and spanning nearly 35,000 square meters, the exhibition brings together more than 300 companies from across the globe. It covers the full LNG value chain, including production, processing, liquefaction, storage, maritime transportation, distribution, and end-use applications.

The exhibition places strong emphasis on technological innovation in LNG production, storage, and distribution. Participating companies are presenting cutting-edge solutions aimed at boosting efficiency, reducing operational costs, lowering carbon emissions, and enhancing safety and sustainability standards.

Among the highlights are advanced liquefaction technologies that improve refrigeration cycles and incorporate energy-efficient equipment, along with sophisticated engineering solutions designed for a range of liquefaction facilities.

Digital transformation is also a key theme, with technology firms showcasing applications powered by artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and smart systems to support LNG operations across all stages of the value chain.

A centerpiece of the exhibition is the 800-square-meter QatarEnergy pavilion, which highlights Qatar’s long-standing leadership in the LNG industry and its position as one of the world’s largest producers and exporters. The pavilion features current and future projects that reinforce the country’s role as a global hub for energy development and innovation.

The event serves as a valuable platform for strengthening international cooperation, exchanging expertise, and identifying practical solutions to challenges facing the sector, particularly amid rising global demand for reliable, low-emission energy sources.

Exhibitors and industry representatives noted that the exhibition provides a global forum for sharing knowledge and exploring new opportunities, reflecting LNG’s increasing significance in the global energy landscape.

Alongside the exhibition, the conference program includes research abstracts presented by industry experts. Chair of the Organizing Committee for LNG 2026, Jim Solomon, announced that nearly 500 research abstracts were submitted, marking a 50 percent increase compared to the 2023 conference and a 20 percent rise over the previous record.

The conference agenda features technical paper presentations, interactive panel discussions, and a dedicated poster session known as the Discovery Center. The program was developed by a committee of 38 LNG experts from around the world, representing fields such as process technology, engineering, operations, shipping, marketing, and legal affairs, ensuring diverse and relevant content for participants.

Abstract submissions opened a year in advance through a global call that received an unprecedented response. Only one in four submissions was selected for inclusion in the technical program, which will be delivered over the three days of the conference.
