In her welcoming address, AmCham Qatar Chairperson Ms. Xiomara Henriquez thanked partners and guests, underscoring Doha’s growing role as a global hub where innovation, diplomacy, and technology intersect.
She highlighted the strong German participation, with more than 200 companies represented in Web Summit 2026, and reaffirmed Qatar’s national vision, which places innovation, knowledge, and human development at the heart of long-term progress.
She also spoke about the responsible use of technology and artificial intelligence in diplomacy, emphasizing Qatar’s human-centered and values-driven approach to digital transformation.
Abdalla Ibrahim Abdulrahman Sultan Al Hamar, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States of America, thanked the organizers and participants and shared his pleasure at being part of the gathering.
He emphasized that in today’s rapidly evolving global landscape, resilience, cooperation, and closer coordination are essential. Reflecting on the theme “Three Continents, One Future,” he noted that it perfectly captures the collaborative spirit linking Qatar, Germany, and the United States.
He highlighted their shared focus on advanced technologies, cross-border research, and embedding innovation into long-term economic and educational strategies. He also pointed to Qatar’s active engagement through the Qatar Financial Centre, which has helped attract hundreds of German and U.S. companies, positioning Qatar not only as a destination but as a launchpad for global expansion.
Nizar Maarouf, Liaison Director of the German Mittelstand GCC Office, expressed his appreciation for the discussion and the strong support shown throughout the evening. He reflected on the vibrant energy of the event and its clear focus on the future, stressing the importance of chambers of commerce in fostering dialogue, building partnerships, and enabling meaningful collaboration among businesses.
Mohanad Abdul-Jabbar, Chief Information Technology Officer at Fusion and the exclusive partner of the German startup Pavilion, addressed the audience on behalf of Sheikh Abdulrahman Bin Hassan Al Thani, Chairman and President of Fusion Group Holding. He conveyed warm greetings and appreciation to all partners, reflected on Fusion’s 14-year commitment to the region, and emphasized its role as a bridge between global expertise and local opportunity.
Speakers echoed the importance of long-standing partnerships and collaboration, noting the Web Summit as a powerful platform for dialogue, connection, and opportunity.
