Qatar: Ecuador Business Delegation Visited Lulu Hypermarket, Al Messila

A high-level delegation of 20 businessmen from the private sector of Ecuador led by Mrs. Ivonne A-Baki, the Ambassador of Ecuador to the State of Qatar visited Lulu Hypermarket at Al Messila recently.   The visit was organized by The Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador and the Ministry of Commerce and Investment of Ecuador through the Institute for Export and Investment Promotion ProEcuador.  Upon arrival, Shanavas, Regional Manager of Lulu Group Qatar and Mohammed Nazar, General Manager of Lulu Hypermarket, Al Messila welcomed the delegation.

The visit was held on the sidelines of the “The International Trade Networking:  Ecuador-Qatar , Edition 2018” and was aimed at promoting the export of chocolate, coffee, banana, flowers, processed food, fishery, aquacultures, textile, handcrafts and others through matchmaking meetings with the local importers. The delegation includes representatives of Ecuadorian producers of chocolate, coffee, banana, flowers, processed food, sea food, aquaculture, textile, handcrafts and many more.

“Ecuador is exporting various high-quality food products, our first source of income is oil export, followed by banana, shrimps and roses secured third and fourth places, respectively in terms of providing income to the country,” said Ecuador envoy on the occasion.

The delegates spent a couple of hours along with the Lulu Management team and shared their business views on promoting their business network in Qatar with the fastest growing retail giant Lulu Group.  They have also  made a store tour to explore the categories and were highly impressed with the availability of various products from around the world.

The opening of “The International Trade Networking: Ecuador - Qatar, Edition 2018” was held on Thursday, the 26th of April, 2018 at St Regis Hotel.
