Doha, 23 Jan. 2025
Doha Forum, a leading global platform for dialogue and diplomacy, has recently unveiled the theme of its 23rd edition: 'Equity in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress'. The announcement was made during a reception held at the Invest Qatar Pavilion at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
Doha Forum 2025 will be held on December 6-7 in Doha, Qatar, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar. The event will convene world leaders, policymakers and decision-makers to address the world’s most critical challenges and promote social and economic justice worldwide.
Speaking at the Doha Forum Reception in Davos, Mubarak Ajlan Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of Doha Forum, said: “Doha Forum is honored to host this esteemed gathering of partners, colleagues, and friends to share insights, build partnerships, and unveil 2025’s theme. With ‘Equity in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress,’ we reaffirm our mission to foster meaningful dialogue and drive transformative change. Our goal is to inspire collaborative solutions that make equity a tangible reality worldwide.”
'The 2025 theme reflects Doha Forum’s commitment to bridging divides and championing social and economic justice though inclusive and forward-thinking dialogue', confirmed Maha Al-Kuwari, General Manager of Doha Forum. 'We look forward to advancing this vision by fostering impactful conversations and generating actionable recommendations under the pillars of diplomacy, dialogue, and diversity'.
This year’s theme highlights the most pressing challenges of our time, including the growing divide between the Global North and South, unequal access to technology, and the unfair distribution of resources. While international agreements often emphasize equity and justice, achieving measurable progress remains elusive. Doha Forum 2025 seeks to address these gaps by convening world leaders, policymakers, academics and thought leaders to focus on actionable strategies that deliver on the promises of equity. Attendees can expect a dynamic agenda featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to spark innovation and collaboration.
