Qatar: 3000 Attend WSIF and Indian Community's Iftar in Doha

Doha, Qatar, 22 March 2025

The Workers Support and Insurance Fund (WSIF) in collaboration with Kerala Muslim Cultural Center (KMCC), a Qatar based  Indian community forum organized a gala Iftar dinner at the indoor hall of Al-Arabi Sports Club, Doha recently.

Present on the occasion were Salim Darwish Al-Muhannadi representing Workers Support & Insurance Fund (WSIF); Khalid Abdulrahman Fakhru, Ministry of Labour; Faisal Hudawi, Dr. Bahauddin Hudavi and Kunjammad Perambra from Ministry of Interior; PN Babu Raj, ICC Advisory Council Chairman; and Sheikh Zakaria Al-Noori, representative of Fanar Islamic Center Doha; Dr. Abdus Samad, KMCC State President; Parakkal Abdullah, KMCC State Secretary; Afzal Abdul Majeed and Jafar Thayyil, KMCC leaders.

Around 3,000 members of the Indian community from various segments attended the Iftar gathering underscored the dedication of both WSIF and KMCC Qatar towards community welfare and unity, further strengthening the spirit of Ramadan through meaningful collaboration and engagement.

Speaking on the occasion, Salim Darwesh Al Muhannadi of WSIF appreciated the efforts of KMCC on successfully organizing the event in a spiritual atmosphere, with complete discipline.

He said that this Iftar with participation of large persons is the largest Iftar gathering he ever attended in Qatar.

He added that this kind of events certainly will play a pivotal role in cementing community bonds and personal relationships between community members and WSIF .

AlMuhannadi said that WSIFI is proud on this collaboration with KMCC and look forward in associating in future with more programs.

Earlier, the event took off  from the  recitation of the verses from Holy book Quran in melidius voice of Nasser Faizi.

FMCC General Secretary, Salim Nalakath welcomed the participants and thanked them accepting their invitAtion

During the event, KMCC State'team including Afzal Abdul Majeedk and Jafar Thayyil were were honored for their selection as the chairperson of the Indian Embassy's apex body ISC advisory council, and as the members of the ICC and ICBF Managing Committees respectively.

Sheikh Zakaria Al-Noori delivered a special Ramadan message on the occasion followed by Maghrib prayer led by Dr  Bahauddin Hudawi.

The gathering witnessed an enthusiastic participation from KMCC advisory committee members, office bearers, and KMCC members representing various districtS, areas, mandal, panchayat, municipal, and sub-committees.

To conclude the event, KMCC Treasurer PSM Hussain delivered the vote of thanks.
