Ambassador of Turkey to Qatar, Dr Mustafa Goksu hosted on Thursday a special Iftar banquet for media personalities at his official residence.
In his address to the media personalities from various media houses and entities, the ambassador stressed the importance of uniting the members of the society based on mutual respect, sympathy, and solidarity.
He said, “As we all gather this evening, it is a unique opportunity to foster dialogue, build bridges, and promote peace in the world.” Dr Goksu, who holds a Master’s degree in Islamic studies from Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, said the spirit of Holy Month of Ramadan, a time of reflection, compassion and unity, guides to embrace the values of tolerance and respect that transcend borders and languages.
Talking about the catastrophic human situation in Palestine, especially in Gaza Strip, the Turkish envoy praised the prominent role being played by Qatar in Gaza in providing generous aid and efforts for peace in the region.
The envoy praised the important role played by the media in highlighting and on continued coverage of the tragic events and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
He thanked all the guests for honouring his invitation and for their presence, wishing that the Iftar be a symbol of shared humanity and aspirations for a better, more harmonious world.
He expressed special thanks to Nebras Media for providing the opportunity to gather in the evening. Prominent media personality Jaber Al Harami addressed the guests. Earlier, Abdurrahman Musab Goksu, a young Turkish boy, welcomed the guests.
