Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden will visit Lima, Peru to attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.  Following their Peru visit, both Chinese and US leaders Xi will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where both will attend the 19th Group of Twenty (G20) Summit to be held in Museum of Modern Art.

For over thirty years, the APEC CEO Summit has been the premier business event in the Asia Pacific. In 2024, it will be held in Lima, Peru from November 13th to 15th, bringing together over 1,000 C-level executives, thought leaders and government  representatives. This year’s theme, 'People, Business, Prosperity', will focus on innovative approaches for the region's most critical challenges.

This prestigious event will gather CEOs, multilateral institutions, thought leaders, and senior political figures from around the world. The speakers will present groundbreaking ideas and innovative solutions to address the region's most pressing challenges. The Summit will also highlight the latest trends and disruptive technologies, such as artificial intelligence and digital health, that are transforming businesses and society today.

G20 summit is the premier inter-governmental forum for international economic cooperation. The forum plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues.

The G20 Summit represents the conclusion of the work carried out by the country holding the group's rotating presidency. It is the moment when heads of state and government approve the agreements negotiated throughout the year and point out ways of dealing with global challenges.

In Brasil, the G20 Leaders' Summit is scheduled for November 18 and 19, 2024, in Rio de Janeiro, with the presence of the leaders of the 19 member countries, plus the African Union and the European Union.

The G20 does not have a permanent secretariat or Headquarters. The G20 president is responsible for bringing together the G20 agenda in consultation with other members and in response to developments in the global economy.
