In a continuation of its mediation efforts, the State of Qatar has facilitated the return of a second group of Afghan nationals from the Federal Republic of Germany to Afghanistan. This development underscores Qatar’s ongoing role in bridging communication between Afghanistan and the international community.

According to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the group of 81 Afghan nationals was repatriated following extensive logistical coordination and high-level diplomatic engagement led by Qatar. These efforts included a series of meetings hosted in Doha, aimed at establishing structured and humane frameworks for safe, voluntary returns. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to upholding the dignity of returnees and supporting their reintegration into Afghan society.

This second repatriation follows a previous operation in which 28 Afghan nationals were returned last year, highlighting the initiative's sustained success and viability. The Ministry emphasized that a dedicated follow-up mechanism has been put in place to monitor returnees' conditions, ensure their well-being, and support long-term reintegration efforts. This mechanism also aims to maintain ongoing coordination among all relevant stakeholders.

Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to addressing humanitarian challenges in Afghanistan through dialogue and cooperation. He also expressed appreciation to both the Afghan caretaker government and the German authorities for their trust in Qatar’s mediation and swift collaboration, which contributed to the success of the operation.
