GCC Delegates Attend 2016 Gulf Inmates Week Celebrations

The delegates from GCC countries participated in "Together to achieve the reform", a theme on Unified Gulf Inmates Week 2016 held at Gulf Mall from 25-28 December.

The delegates visited the Penal and Correctional Institutions Department yesterday. Brig. Muhammed Saud Al Otaibi, Director, Penal and Correctional Institutions Department met with the delegate members. Dr. Mohsin Moaidh Al Arjani, representative of the General Secretariat of GCC was also present on the occasion.

Delegates lauded the care and rehabilitation facilities provided by the department for the prison inmates.

Brig. Muhammad Abdullah Al Ahmad, Head of the Inmates Affairs Section, Brig. Ali Abdul Aziz Murad, Head of the Ladies Inmates Affairs Department, Lt. Col Jassim Muhammad Al Kaabi, Head of Care and Rehabilitation Section and Ft. Lt. Adel Mirza Al Qasimi also attended the meeting.

The delegates witnessed the sports activities of the inmates including tug of war, table tennis and billiards. They toured various sections such as Workshops, Welding, Electricity, Industrial Units and play halls of the inmates.

Dr. Mohsin Moaidh Al Arjani, Director of the Security Monitoring Department of the General Secretariat of GCC countries stated that the facilities made by Qatar for the prison inmates are exemplary where the products manufactured by the inmates showed their perfect competence, it will help them to mix in society once they are released after the completion of sentences.
