Osama Hamdan, Deputy Public Relations Director of Hamas Political Wing of the Palestinian’s front liberation forces, has said that the possible successor of martyred Ismail Haneyah as head of Hamas’ political wing will be announced soon.
Talking to Ashraf Siddiqui, Editor, www.asiantelegraphqatar.com on the sidelines of the three-day mourning period which concluded on Sunday, Osama Hamdan said that Hamas is a well-organized outfit with strong established systems. After completion of the procedures, a decision in this regard will be made, he added.
Responding on the barbaric act of enemy, he said that every Muslim’s wish is the final death of Shahadat. The recently assassinated Shaheed Ismail Hanayeh achieved his desired goal. Hamdan said that he strongly believes that the unprecedented sacrifices of the Palestinians at the hands of the barbaric and disparate occupying forces of Palestine will not be in vain and Palestine will be liberated soon.
He appealed to all peace-loving people around the world, especially to the members of Islamic Ummah, to come forward and extend their helping hand in all areas of struggle for Palestine liberation from the brutality of the illegal occupation as duty of each and every Muslim.
A three-day mourning ceremony concluded in Doha on Sunday evening where thousands of people from all walks of life and of various nationalities, as well as religious scholars, statesmen and diplomats from various parts of the region expressed their condolences to Shaheed Ismail Haneyah’s close family members and the leadership of Hamas present.
A 10-member delegation of Palestinians Abroad, an international forum of over seven million overseas Palestinians spread over 50 countries had arrived to attend the funeral and condolence ceremony of Haniyeh.
Hamas political wing chief Shaheed Ismail Haniyeh had gone to the Iranian capital to attend the inauguration oath taking ceremony of Iran’s newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian. Haniyeh along with his bodyguard was killed last Wednesday’s early morning in Tehran by a short-range projectile launched from outside his residence, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said.
