The Ministry of Interior Qatar received Award in category of 'Best Field Information and Operational Cooperation in Anti-Narcotic' in Arab world. It was announced on the occasion of 30th Conference of Chiefs of Anti-Narcotics Agencies in Arab Countries held in the Headquarters of General Secretariat of Arab Interior Ministers in the Tunisian capital.
Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Saturday that the award reflects the outstanding efforts of the Drugs Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the ongoing cooperation and coordination with various support agencies in the fight against drugs in Arab, regional and on international levels.
Brigadier General Ahmed Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director of Anti-Narcotics General Administration at the Ministry of Interior said 'MOI was awarded this prize for the second consecutive year and it represents a culmination of the great efforts being exerted by the Ministry, the ongoing information and operational cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, resulting in several drug seizures and foiling of drug smuggling operations in the region'.
Brigadier General Amr Mohammed Saleh Al Humaidi, DEA Assistant Director received the Award on behalf of the Ministry of Interior .
The two-day meeting covered issues like international developments in illegal drug trade, impact on the Arab region as well as legal action by Arab states to monitor chemicals used in the manufacture of illegal drugs.
