Federal Minister for Information of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry said today that Pakistan will not take unilateral decision in recognition of Taliban government in Afghanistan. He was briefing the media after Pakistan's federal cabinet meeting which reviewed developments in neighboring Afghanistan.
He said that Pakistan was a responsible part of the international community, we are in touch with our friends, both in region and internationally, and we will decide accordingly,” he said.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had a detailed discussion with Turkish President on the Afghanistan situation, and the US secretary of state had spoken to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the same topic.
On Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan, he said: “We are pleased and satisfied that the change in Afghanistan neither caused any bloodshed nor triggered a war, which is satisfactory.”
