Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued the following statement condemning US attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns in the strongest possible terms, the United States’ brutal military aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities—a grave and unprecedented violation of the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the international law.

The war-mongering and lawless regime of the United States of America is held fully responsible for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of this egregious act of aggression and heinous crime.

The U.S. military aggression against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a UN member state—carried out in collusion with the genocidal Israeli regime—once again laid bare the depth of depravity that governs American foreign policy and revealed the extent of hostility harbored by the U.S. ruling establishment against the peace-seeking and independence-loving people of Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is resolved to defend Iran's territory, sovereignty, security and people by all force and means against the United States' criminal aggression.

The U.S. unlawful attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, which occurred in the early hours of the 10th day of Israel’s military aggression against Iran, has unequivocally exposed Washington’s criminal complicity with the Zionist regime in orchestrating and waging a war against Iran.

This act of aggression, perpetrated by a permanent member of the Security Council, against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities constitutes not only a flagrant breach of the UN Charter—especially the prohibition of the use of force under Article 2(4) and the obligation to respect states' territorial integrity and sovereignty—but also a violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and a devastating blow to the global non-proliferation regime.

Silence in the face of such blatant aggression would plunge the world into an unprecedented level of danger and chaos.

The Islamic Republic of Iran reminds the #UnitedNations, the Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, the International Atomic Energy Agency (#IAEA), and other relevant international bodies of their responsibilities to take urgent and decisive action in response to this appalling breach of international law.

As a founding member of the United Nations, the Islamic Republic of Iran calls on the Organization and its responsible member states to fulfill their responsibilities in the face of the United States’ blatant unlawful unilateral acts against Iran.

We urge the UN Security Council to convene an emergency session to unequivocally condemn this criminal act of aggression by the United States against Iran and to hold the United States accountable for its egregious violation of the fundamental principles of United Nations Charter and of the norms of international law.

The responsibility of the IAEA and its Director General—who, through evident bias in favor of warmongering parties, paved the way for this recent catastrophe—is now clearer than ever. We call on the IAEA Board of Governors to immediately convene and carry out its legal responsibility in response to this dangerous U.S. attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, all of which have been under the Agency’s full safeguards and monitoring.

The world must not forget that it was the United States that, in the midst of a diplomatic process, betrayed diplomacy by supporting the genocidal and lawbreaking Israeli regime to impose a war of aggression on the Iranian nation. Now, in completion of that regime’s unlawful and criminal acts, the United States itself has launched a dangerous war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It has now become abundantly clear to all that the very regime which enjoys permanent membership in the Security Council is beholden to no principle or morality and will stop at no illegality or crime to serve the aims of a genocidal, occupying regime.

Meanwhile, in a sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Iranian parliament announced on Sunday its decision to close the vital Strait of Hormuz to naval traffic following unprecedented US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. The measure was confirmed by Maj. Gen. Esmaeil Kowsari, a member of the parliament’s National Security Commission, in a statement broadcast by state media. According to Kowsari, the final decision rests with the Supreme National Security Council, Iran’s highest security authority.

The Strait of Hormuz is the world’s most critical channel for oil transport, making its potential closure a serious threat to global energy markets and international commerce.

The decision came after US President Donald Trump announced early Sunday that American forces had conducted precision strikes on Iran’s Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities. The attacks, carried out with stealth bombers and submarine-launched cruise missiles, marked a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran. The US targeted the facilities with the stated goal of neutralizing Iran’s nuclear capabilities, referring to the operation as a 'spectacular military success' and a 'total and complete win'.

Trump defended the strikes, claiming Iran posed an imminent threat and citing past grievances, including the 1979 hostage crisis. The White House stated that the attacks were meant to deter further aggression and were not intended as a prelude to regime change.

Tehran condemned the strikes as a 'barbaric' breach of international law and announced its right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter. The Iranian Health Ministry confirmed that at least 430 people had been killed and more than 3,500 wounded in a wave of attacks that began June 13 when Israel launched airstrikes across Iran.

The international reaction has been swift. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), after its 51st Council of Foreign Ministers session in Istanbul, issued the Istanbul Declaration calling for immediate global action. The OIC condemned both the United States and Israel for their attacks, characterizing them as grave violations of international law and urging the United Nations to intervene. The declaration emphasized the need for a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction and called upon Israel to join the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation Treaty.

The United Nations Security Council announced an emergency session to address the crisis, following Iran’s formal request. The Iranian delegation called on the Council to denounce the attacks, citing their threat to international peace and security. The OIC further urged member nations to mobilize their ambassadors to rally global support against Israel’s aggression.

As tensions rise, Israel confirmed that its own military campaign has claimed at least 25 lives, with hundreds injured. Meanwhile, Iran maintains its right to retaliate, warning of more extensive and forceful responses if aggression persists. The crisis threatens to plunge the Middle East into a wider conflict, with significant economic and security implications for the global community.

Pakistan at the OIC Foreign Ministers 51st Session, condemned in the strongest terms Israel’s unjustified and illegitimate aggression against the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Iran and offer condolences on the loss of numerous lives as result of targeting of the civil areas by Israel, Senator Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister of Pakistan.

He said that Israeli aggression has taken place at a time when IAEA was continuing its verification process; thus Israel violated international laws and several IAEA statues and resolutions by attacking the IAEA safeguarded facilities.

He said that these attacks risked setting a dangerous precedent and posed a great threat to the safety of populations in the region and around the globe. He added that Pakistan fully supports Iran’s inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, in response to the blatant and provoked Israeli aggression’.
