Ahmed Said Jaber Al Rumaihi, Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) praised the role of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) in strengthening media relations between its member states and advancing professional ties between media workers.
This came during the QNA Director-General's virtual meeting with the Acting Director-General of UNA Mohammed Abd Rabbo Al Yami.
Al Rumaihi praised UNA's vision and work program, stressing Qatar's support for UNA and QNA's keenness to make UNA programs a success and enhance its roles in developing member agencies and news exchange.
The meeting witnessed an explanation to the QNA Director-General about UNA's vision for the coming years, which revolves around its role as a major media platform for member states and the advancement of the media industry, based on Islamic and media values that encourage transparency, credibility and tolerance.
Both also reviewed UNA's role in providing strategic media advice to member states through representatives of official national news agencies, in addition to holding several courses during the coming period.
