Eng. Abdulla Abdulaziz Al Subaie, Qatar Rail Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said on Tuesday that the company has made great strides in the implementation of the railway project, where experimental train tests are continuing and by the end of this year, most of the work in the stations will be completed.

Al Subaie noted that the company is about to enter a very important stage, the operational phase, which requires intensive preparations and multiplying efforts to achieve its goal of providing a transport system that meets the highest international standards. The CEO also expressed delight for hosting the members of the Advisory Council and receiving them at the metro stations and informing them about the progress of the project from advanced stages on the ground.

The delegation began their visit with the economic zone's metro station. They then visited Ras Abu Fontas metro station, the main service center of the Doha Metro, the operating room of the network where they got a brief presentation on how they work. and visited the Main Control Building of the Doha Metro Networks and inspected the central monitoring, control and operation systems.

It is worth mentioning that the Economic Zone Station is located at the intersection of the Sixth Ring Road and Al Wakra Road, and can accommodate 15,000 passengers per hour. The station will serve as the main hub of the economic zone at Ras Poftas because of its proximity to Hamad International Airport. The architectural features of the Economic Zone Station are combined with traditional country models and modern and contemporary architectural decoration, giving the station a unique aesthetic look.
