The members of Spouses of Head of Missions (SOHOM) Group have lauded the healthcare system in Qatar and appreciated the measures taken by the country to fight the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Talking to Qatar Tribune, Judi Sari, SOHOM Group vice-president and the wife of the Ambassador of Hungary H E Barnabas Fodor, said the healthcare system in Qatar is one of the most developed in the world. “All patients can rely on the expertise of the doctors in Qatar,” she said, expressing the group’s appreciation of Qatar’s efforts to fight COVID-19.
She expressed her gratitude to the Qatari authorities, who have spared no efforts, under the visionary leadership of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, and spent generously to create hundreds of new beds and ICU units in hospitals.
She said international community also greatly appreciates Qatar Airways which has kept its aircraft flying while the majority of large airlines stopped operations, contributing to the repatriation of thousands of foreign nationals stranded at different parts of the world.
She urged the members of SOHOM and their families, as well as members of expatriate communities, to seriously follow the measures and recommendations issued by local authorities, especially for staying at home.
Sari appreciated SOHOM Group members for their contribution to raising awareness of combating the pandemic in line with the directives of the local authorities. She thanked Venus Rincon, the wife of HE Giuseppe Angelo Yoffreda Yorio, the ambassador of Venezuela, for producing a short video and a flyer for creating awareness among the SOHOM families and the expatriates.
She hoped and wished that the number of positive COVID-19 cases would start declining soon. “We are having an opportunity to witness the outstanding job being done by the authorities, and their dedication of HE Lolwa al Khater and the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, in handling the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” she added.
