Staff Maj. Gen Saad bin Jassim Al-Khulaifi, Director General of Public Security inaugurated 34th Traffic Week celebrations at Darb Al-Saai today (Sunday) evening in the presence of department directors and senior officers at the Ministry of Interior of Qatar. More than 60 entities are taking part in exhibition at Darb Al Saai.
The event will carry on until Saturday, 24th March in two shifts. In morning will start from 0800 AM until 1200 noon, except on Friday, and at evening events from 0400 PM until 0900 PM with a wide range of activities including a number of awareness programs participated by concerned ministries and institutions.
A number of new activities this year are included in associated events featuring the traffic services introduced by the Licensing Department of the General Directorate of Traffic like Vehicle Registration, Renewal of Driving License, Mobile Technical Inspection of Vehicles, Field of Training and Driving Test, various insurance companies display of services. Among new activities also include competition on knowledge of traffic laws in collaboration of driving schools as well as a number of seminars for public and the school students.
The Traffic Village and the theater will open from Monday morning and Traffic Licensing Department will begin its services to the public in morning and as well as in the evening.
Among activities also include various seminars like 'The Road Safety Strategy in Qatar until 2022', "Role of family in traffic awareness", 'The Role of Schools in Spreading Traffic Awareness', a debate competition among participating students from various schools on "Driving without license-between acceptance and refusal" will also take place. Wednesday evening will witness a poetry reading event. On Thursday Morning, seminar on "Traffic Information between Reality and Hope" is arranged.
On Tuesday, March 20, the students' theater will offer a range of activities for visiting school students and the veteran drivers will be honored.
On Wednesday evening along with a seminar, a poetry reading art, a competition on Traffic Laws in collaboration with driving schools is also arranged.
On Thursday morning, an awareness lecture on Title "Wrong Traffic Behavior from an Islamic Perspective" will be held in morning, in addition to the activities of the traffic village, the licensing department, and the students' theater.
The events on Friday will start from 0400 PM onward, Weeklong events will conclude on Saturday evening.
'2018 Traffic Week' witnesses participation of a number of concerned ministries such as Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and an addition of specially arranged school tent.
There will be activities to educate students at all levels, along with special children corner and interactive games for children.
There is a designated area for Souq Waqif and Traffic Citadel.
The Lekhwiya Force will demonstrate their skills at the external area in the venue, and there will be shows of youth initiatives through some youth wings and Qatar University.
