Tianjin, July 12 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Digital Economy Forum convened on Friday in Tianjin, north China, underscoring fresh opportunities for collaboration among SCO member states. Under the theme 'New Bonds in the Digital Economy, New Horizons for Cooperation', the event included an opening ceremony, a main forum, four themed sub-forums, and related activities.
Jointly organized by the NDA and the Tianjin municipal government, the forum attracted more than 1,500 participants from governments, businesses, universities, and think tanks across SCO member states. Attendees explored topics such as digitally driven industrial development, cultivation of digital talent, data governance, and the construction of digital infrastructure.
At the forum, Liu Liehong, head of the National Data Administration (NDA), noted that SCO countries have made significant strides in jointly developing digital infrastructure, advancing the digital transformation of traditional industries, and fostering collaborative industrial growth.
According to Liu, these initiatives are fueling the expansion of the digital economy and technological innovation, injecting new vitality into regional development.
