Shahbaz Sharif Took Oath As 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan, Turkish President Erdogan Congratulated On Telephone

Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Opposition Leader in National Assembly (Lower House) of Pakistan was elected as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan after 174 lawmakers voted in his favour against  his opponent Shah Mehmood Qureshi, candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) got nil vote, PTI  members boycotted the PM election in last moment

Earlier, PTI MNAs walked out of the halls, with Shah Mahmood Qureshi announcing that they would be resigning from the National Assembly.

In last regime of Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan and his NA 35 members had resigned also but kept collecting their all allowances from NA untill next elections.

Former Speaker NA and member of Speakers panel, Ayaz Sadiq presided over the session after Deputy Speaker and PTI NA member,  Qasim Suri, refused to conduct the session.

Ayaz Sadiq had also presided over NA session in 2013 which elected 3rd time Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, then President of PMLN as prime minister of Pakistan. Today,  once again he was presiding NA session and conducted the voting which elected Shahbaz Sharif, PMLN President and younger brother of Mohammad Nawaz Sharif as 23rd Prime Minister of country.

Upon announcement Shahbaz Sharif as 23rd Pakistan's PM, lawmakers began shouting slogans in favour of Shehbaz and Nawaz.

In his maiden address to the house as the prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif thanked AlMighty the Creator Allah for 'saving Pakistan'.

He said it was the first time in Pakistan's history that a no-confidence motion against a prime minister had been successful and 'good has prevailed over evil'.

He ssid that today was a 'big day' for the entire nation when a 'selected' prime minister was removed through democratic, in a legal and constitutional manner.

Newly elected prime minister thanked the Supreme Court (SC) for burying the doctrine of necessity forever. "In the future, no one wil be able to rely on it," he said.

He stressed the nation to work unitedly to over come the severe challenges before the country.

Talking on foreign relations, he lauded close friendly relations with China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and other GCC States.

He announced calling of imnediate in-camera Parliamentary National Security Committee meeting  in presence of Chiefs of Forces and Inter Services Intelligence Chief to look into alleged charges of immediate past Prime Minister Imran Khan on NA members collaborating with the US in ousting him from the chair.

He announced of minimum wage of Rs 25,000 throughout the country and increase of 10% in salary upto Rs 100,000 a month.

Acting President of Pakistan and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani administered Oath ceremony of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif as PTI elected President Dr. Arif Alvi went on rest on 'health' reason,

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan was the first foreign leader congratulated Shahbaz Sharif being elected Prime Minister.

  1. Indeed, Shahbaz Sharif has become the new PM of Pakistan, well this a fact but the other fact is that he was elected the PM under the SC decision and Military approval. Since the opposition had called for new elections then it would be much more honourable for them yo agree on going to early elections as the President had issued a decree in this regard. Then they would have legitimacy of they are reelected. But accepting coming to power in chaos that would question their legitimacy.
    The US conveyed that IK has to go immediately the Army and its subsidiary SC moved swiftly to make this happen based on the opposition placed case. Of they change the elections law so that tgey

    so that they produce a tailored elections law, or if they stay in power for the rest of the Parliament term (i.e, 1.5 more yeard) then my doubts become more true.
    At least IK kept his promises and the PTI group resigned enmass...

    Let's wait and see ma Allah SWT protect Pakistan.
