Taliban Meets Chinese Top Diplomat

Doha, 28 July 2021

Mullah Baradar Akhund, Deputy-Amir for Political Affairs and Head of the Political Office of Taliban, headed a nine-member high-level delegation to the People’s Republic of China on a two days official visit.

During the visit, the delegation met separately with Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister and Wu jianghao, Vice Foreign Minister and  China's Special Representative for Afghanistan.

Both sides exchanged their views on various  political, economic and security issues related to the two countries, the current situation in Afghanistan and the peace process.

The delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assured that the territory of Afghanistan will not be used against security of any country including China.

As per press release from Taleban office, China emphasized to continue and expand its cooperation with the Afghan people, saying that they will not interfere in Afghanistan's affairs, but rather help solve problems and bring peace.

Taliban delegation thanked China for its continuous support to the Afghan people, especially its continuous support and efforts for prevention of corona pandemic.
