Doha, Qatar | 04 February 2026 :

The 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 2026) concluded today on a high note, wrapping up four days of in-depth dialogue, strategic exchange, and collaboration focused on the future of the global LNG industry.

Held under the theme “Leading LNG: Powering Today and Tomorrow,” the conference brought together government leaders, policymakers, industry executives, and technical experts to explore LNG’s critical role in meeting global energy demand, enhancing energy security, and supporting the energy transition. Discussions covered market outlooks, technological innovation, sustainability, and the competitive advantages of LNG in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

LNG2026 was inaugurated on 5 February by Amir of State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. The event also saw high-level participation from Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, alongside chief executive officers and senior leaders from major global energy companies including TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, Shell, and ConocoPhillips.

The conference welcomed delegates from more than 80 countries, reaffirming its position as the world’s most prestigious LNG gathering. An accompanying exhibition featured over 300 companies across 35,000 square meters at the Qatar National Convention Centre, showcasing cutting-edge technologies, services, and solutions shaping the future of LNG.

Speaking at the closing session, Lolwa Khalil Salat, Manager of Public Relations and Communication at QatarEnergy, highlighted the broader significance of the event. She noted that the past few days demonstrated how energy discussions extend beyond projects and figures, emphasizing the importance of trust, cooperation, and a shared vision for the future. She added that participants depart with stronger partnerships, clearer direction, and renewed confidence in the shared responsibility of ensuring global energy security.

Salat expressed her sincere appreciation, on behalf of Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi and Qatar’s energy sector, to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his patronage and for opening the conference. She also thanked all speakers, participants, sponsors, partners, and exhibitors for their vital contributions to the event’s success.

During the closing ceremony, hosting responsibilities for the next conference were formally handed over to Professor Andrew Garnett, Chair of The Australian Gas Industry Trust. LNG2029 will be held in Brisbane, Australia.

The LNG Conference and Exhibition is held every three years, alternating between LNG-exporting and importing countries, and is jointly organized by the International Gas Union, the Gas Technology Institute, and the International Institute of Refrigeration.
