5th National CSR Report Released, Minister of Culture & Other companies Honored

Qatar University (QU) hosted today ceremony to launch the fifth edition of the National CSR Report.

Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports of Qaqtar was honored today as CSR Person of the Year 2016 in recognition of his significant role in supporting CSR and for being a role model in inspiring the youth of Qatar at a ceremony hosted today by Qatar University.

Among others who were awarded include Doha Bank as CSR Company of the Year 2016, and “Annabi Int Gadha” Initiative Founder Mohammed Al Mohannadi and Sasol - Qatar General Manager of Public Affairs Jack Saba were honored with the CSR Innovation Award. A number of other companies and community representatives were also honored.

The report is issued by QU in partnership with Qatar CSR Network, will be distributed to all Qatari embassies around the world through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Qatar Media Corporation is the Media Partner.

The event included a presentation entitled “Strategic Integration of CSR in Qatar and Organizational Performance” and delivered by QU College of Business and Economics Associate Professor and Member of QU CSR Committee Dr Dalia Abdel Rahman Farrag.

It also included for the first time an exhibition of 21 booths by Al Meera, Aspire Zone, ASTAD Project Management, Commercial Bank of Qatar, Doha Bank, Es’hailSat, Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC), Manateq, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Sports, LNG Japan Corporation Company in Qatar, Morgan Stanley, Ooredoo, Qatar Cool, Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Co, Qatar Media Corporation, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Ramaco Trading and Contracting WLL, Sasol - Qatar, and Sharq Law Firm.

Visitors and students got acquainted with representatives of the public and private sectors and got insight into the various experiences of leaders in the business industry.
