Doha, Qatar 02 March 2026 (QNA)

Due to military attacks on QatarEnergy’s operating facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City in the State of Qatar, QatarEnergy has ceased production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated products.

QatarEnergy values its relationships with all of its stakeholders and will continue to communicate the latest available information.

The Shura Council strongly condemned the recent attack on the State of Qatar, describing it as a grave violation of national sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability. The session was chaired by HE Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim.

Council members praised the swift and coordinated response of the Ministries of Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs, along with other state agencies. They commended the professionalism and high readiness of the Qatari Armed Forces in intercepting multiple missile waves and safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity.

The Council highlighted Qatar’s ongoing commitment to dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution, emphasizing its constructive role in promoting regional stability. It called for an immediate halt to hostilities and a return to negotiations.

Additionally, the Council expressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Republic of Lebanon, reaffirming its support for their security and sovereignty.

Official statement reported by Qatar News Agency stated  that The Ministry of Defense announced Monday that the State of Qatar came under two drone attacks launched from the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the first drone targeting one of the water tanks owned by Mesaieed Power Plant, while the other targeted a power plant in the Ras Laffan Industrial City, confirming that no human casualties were recorded.

In a statement, the Ministry reaffirmed that authoritative agencies would conduct a comprehensive damage assessment and issue official statements shortly thereafter.

It called on the public to remain calm, adhere to the instructions issued by the security authorities, not to be swayed by rumors, and to rely on data and information issued by official sources.
