Around 12 Pakistani artists specially flown from Pakistan to perform on the occasion of Qatar's National Day, i.e. Monday 18th December 2017. Pakistani community living in Qatar was allocated Wakra Stadium to participate in the national day celebrations of host country of Qatar. Pakistani Community's organising team headed by Janan Bangash in cooperation with local police officers had arranged 12 artists and performers from Pakistan.
A number of Indian and Pakistani schools also took part in various stage performances at the Wakra Stadium onward 0300 PM till 0900 PM.
In Wakra MES Indian School won first place while Bhavans Public School and Shantiniketan came second and third places respectively.
However, shows and performances of students from various Pakistani, Indian, Filipino and Sri Lankan schools were also held at Asian Town, Barwa Al Baraha in Doha industrial area, Rayyan Sports Club and Barwa Workers’ Recreation Complex in Al Khor.
A three days long T20 cricket tournament full of suspense and of quality presentation was also held between Int'l Team composed of Cricket stars from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka versus Qatar Cricket Team. It was held in Asian Town Cricket Stadium in collaboration of Ministry of Interior, Ibn Ajayan Project (IAP), Pro Events and Qatar Cricket Association.
'We are celebrating Qatar National Day for the third consecutive year and this year we have organised three matches to mark the occasion,” said by Sajjad Hussain Choudhry, CEO of Pro Events. Choudhry has played an active role in bringing the cricketers to Qatar since last three years. He told that he is trying his best to promote game of cricket in Qatar.
The Center for Bikers BATABIT under the Ministry of Sports participated with 90 bikes, Mawater Cars with 122 cars. Almost 50,000 people attended in Asian town. 20,000 attended cricket championship. Asian Labour City witnessed participation of 20,000, Barwa al Baraha – 15000, Wakra sports club 15,000, Al Khor Workers Recreation Complex – 20000, Rayyan sports club – 7000 spectators.
Around 6,000 students participated in 3 venues from 18 schools that include MES Indian School, Pakistan International School, Bhavans Public School, DPS Modern Indian School, Pak Shama School, and Shanti Niketan School, Ideal Indian School, Birla Public School, Noble International School, Sri Lankan Stafford School, Bangladesh MHM School and Rajagiri School, Philippines International School Qatar, Philippines School Doha, Doha Modern Indian School, Olive School, Philippines School Doha and Qatar Institute for Speech and Hearing.
In Rayyan Sports Club Philippines School Doha won first place while Philippines International School Doha and Scholars International School won second and third places respectively.
In Asian Town Ideal Indian School got first place, Birla Public School came second and Bangladesh MHM School placed third.
In the march-past competition among community organization Cultural Forum came first, Bangladesh community team second and Maharashtra Mandal Qatar came third.
In Rayyan, Malaysian community team won first place, Indonesian second and Filipino community team came third.
Six community teams took part in cultural events. They were Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre, Cultural Forum, Indian Social Forum, Bangladesh Community team, Maharashtra Mandal Qatar, Skills Development Centre and Radio Malayalam.
Six venues almost hosted 10 Indian shows, 20 Nepali, 20 Sri Lankan, 27 Bangladeshi, 7 Filipino, 6 Malaysian and 6 Indonesian cultural performances.
In Rayyan, more than 4,000 persons took part in the Run for Qatar by Filipino Community.
Various departments of Ministry of Interior, State of Qatar took part along with various expatriate communities leaders. Among these departments include Public Relations Department, Community Policing Department, Establishments and Authorities Security Department, Traffic, Civil Defence, Al Fazaa and Hamad Ambulance, Lekhwiya and Private Engineering Office.
