The embassy of Russia in Qatar has made all necessary arrangements to enable Russian residents in Qatar to cast their votes in the State Duma (lower chamber of Russia's parliament) elections.

The Russian registered voters among more than 2,500 Russian expatriates in Qatar will be exercising their constitutional right of electing the members of the state legislative body on Friday, September 17, from 8am to 8pm on the embassy premises in Doha.

As per the official sources, the Russian embassy has completed all necessary arrangements in this regard. Necessary sanitary and hygeinic measures will be taken to ensure voters safety as per the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) protocols on covid-19.

Face masks and hand sanitizers will also be made available to visitors.

The State Duma was established in 1905. However, in the modern history of Russia, the State Duma, along with the Federation Council, is one of the two chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Federal constitutional laws and federal laws  adopted by the State Duma constitute the main source of law.

The Russian embassy in Qatar is located in Villa No. 193, Legtaifiya District, Area 66, St. 804.
