The first Global Media Innovation Forum was held at China Media Group's Beijing headquarters on Wednesday. The forum encourages innovative broadcast production for the upcoming Olympic coverage. Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated the organizers. He said he hoped the event could lead to exchange among participants, showcase winter sports, and promote the Olympic spirit. LIU JIAXIN Beijing "The 24th Winter Olympics will open in Beijing in less than nine days. For this edition, the theme is to 'go faster, aim higher, and become stronger.' And this not only applies to the athletes, but also to everyone else involved in the Games, including broadcasters."
China Media Group chief Shen Haixiong said the Games will be broadcast in ultra-high-definition for an immersive viewer experience.
