Doha: 4,000 Athletes From 34 countries Participated in HYROX Fitness Championship

First ever HYROX fitness championship hosted by Aspire Zone Foundation concluded with unprecedented success.

4,000 athletes from both genders representing 34 countries from various continents participated in  an excited and motivational atmosphere, contributing to Aspire Zone Foundation’s vision of building a strong sports community.

The championship held at the state of the art Aspire Dome was sponsored by Speeder, Visit Qatar, The Torch Hotel, Flat White Coffee, STRYK Lab Fitness Center, and Diet Center.

The event provided participants with the opportunity to compete in various athletic challenges, fostering a sense of unity, solidarity, and enthusiastic competition among athletes from around the world.

HYROX championship includes several challenges that test participants’ athletic abilities, such as running a kilometer and testing strength and endurance through an 8-round challenge including sled push and pull, sandbag carry, wall ball, among other challenges. Friday was dedicated to women’s competitions only, while the following day saw competitions with the participation of both men and women, as well as competitions specifically for Qataris.

Hosting this championship by Aspire Zone Foundation provides an opportunity to experience new athletic challenges and enjoy an atmosphere full of excitement and motivation, contributing to the foundation’s vision of building a strong sports community.

Engineer Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, expressed his delight with the significant collaboration between Visit Qatar and Aspire Zone Foundation, reflecting the value of effective collaboration in organizing major sporting events, not only contributing to the success of the event but also enhancing Qatar’s position as a distinguished and hospitable sports

Nasser Abdulla Al Hajri, Chief Marketing Officer of Aspire Zone Foundation, stated: 'We are delighted to host this event that brought participants and spectators together in one place to enjoy the atmosphere of competition and enthusiasm. At Aspire Zone Foundation, we are committed to supporting and hosting such championships to enhance and develop sports in the region.”

Mohammed Saad Al Mughaisib, President of the Qatar Basketball Federation, praised the organizational level of Aspire Zone Foundation for the first edition of the HYROX fitness championship, stating that the event witnessed strong competition from all athletes at the men’s and women’s categories, with the aim of encouraging people to engage in sports and promoting health and fitness.

Qatari competitor Mubarak Mohammed Al Ajji, who finished second in the Qatari category, thanked Aspire Zone Foundation for providing the opportunity for Qatari competitors to participate in the global HYROX championship, noting the strong competition witnessed by all participants.

Qatari competitor Mohammed Ahmed Bilal, who finished third in the Qatari category, he praised the competitive atmosphere in the HYROX fitness championship, which saw global participation from all competitors in both men’s and women’s categories, stating that Aspire Zone Foundation, as usual, demonstrated its organizational capabilities in hosting this global event for the first time in Doha.
