Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) presented today awards to the winners of 5th day of Annual Festival of Arabian thoroughbred Camel Race for the Sword of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad AlThani.
On their win, Golden Shelfa (arrow) and Golden Dagger were received by sons of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Tamim bin Hamad AlThani and Sheikh Jassim bin Tamim bin Hamad AlThani at the AlShahania Camel Tracks.
Present on the occasion were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and chairman of the Organizing Committee Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al-Thani.
Chairman of the Camel Race Organizing Committee Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al Thani expressed today his delight at the performance in Shahaniya camel Annual Festival of Arabian Thoroughbred Camel Race for the Sword of Emir of qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al-Thani said that the domination of Al Shahaniya camels can continue in the festival's coming days, particularly as the older ones start competing. He expressed his delight on the presence of President of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, sons of the Emir of Qatar, Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who competed today and were awarded the golden shelfa (arrow) and golden danger presented by Sheikh Joaan, .
The Chairman of Camel Racing Committee also expressed his pleasure at the attendance of HRH Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chairman of the Camel Race Organizing Committee commented on the atmosphere of the festival and said it was friendly from day one, despite the intense competition for earning the most wins. (QNA)
