The Pakistan Healthcare Solutions Conference held recently at the ITQAN Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center, Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha.
The event was hosted through a collaboration between the Embassy of Pakistan in Qatar and Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) ITQAN Center, with Atlantic International Business Network (AIBN) serving as the executive partner. The conference was organized to promote healthcare innovation and enhance collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar.
Among the participants were Syed Mustafa Kamal, Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination of Pakistan; Dr. Salih Al Marri, Assistant Minister for Health Affairs, Ministry of Public Health, Qatar; Ali Al Janahi, Acting Assistant Managing Director, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC); Dr. Abdulla Ali Al-Ansari, Medical Advisor to the Managing Director HMC; Lt. Gen. Arshad Naseem, Surgeon General of Pakistan; Prof. Dr Javaid I, Sheikh, Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar; Prof. Dr Ambreen Afzal Ehsan, Vice President, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan; Dr. Abdulla Ahmad Al Yousuf, Executive Director of the ITQAN Center (HMC); medical experts; members of the business community including Ikram Ul Haq, President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce; Muhammad Irfan, CEO of Xeven Solutions; Tanvir Khan of Labware Arabia; and Dr. Obaidullah Malik, CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP); were among other distinguished business community members, underscoring the strong bilateral commitment to healthcare development.
The gathering brought together a diverse array of stakeholders from medical, pharmaceutical, academic, regulatory, and telehealth sectors across both nations. It provided a dynamic platform for dialogue, innovation exchange, and exploration of cross-border partnerships in the healthcare domain.
Prof Dr Javaid I. Sheikh, in his welcoming address thanked the participants, Dr. Abdulla Ahmad, emphasized the transformative impact of international collaboration in strengthening health systems.
Lt. Gen. Arshad Naseem and Prof. Dr. Ambreen Afzal Ehsan, Vice President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in their key-note speeches showcased Pakistan’s healthcare achievements and set the foundation for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
Two expert panel discussions were central to the conference agenda. The first, titled Pakistan-Qatar R&D Collaboration, was moderated by Rahid Mazhar and included insights from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yar, Dr. Ali Raza, Dr. Rayaz Malik, and Dr. Yousuf Al Maslamani.
The second panel, Emerging Smart Healthcare and Innovation Opportunities, moderated by Dr. Hasham Khan, featured contributions from Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gul, Dr. Rola Hammoud, Dr. Zahid Ali, Dr. Javaid Sheikh, and Muhammad Irfan.
In addition, presentations were made by Dr. Obaidullah Malik, Amr Metwally, Assistant Executive Director at ITQAN; Ikram Ul Haq, President;. Muhammad Irfan, CEO of Xeven Solutions; and Tanvir Khan. These sessions highlighted innovations in medical regulation, technology, and business collaboration.
An accompanying exhibition featured leading companies such as Allison, Labware, and others, showcasing advancements in medical equipment, laboratory technologies, and AI-based healthcare solutions, facilitating rich exchanges of knowledge and ideas.
The event concluded with remarks by Hafiz Muhammad Talha, CEO of AIBN and Managing Director of Metas Qatar, followed by a closing address from Muhammad Aamer, Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar. The Ambassador reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to nurturing long-term healthcare partnerships between the two nations.
