The Government Engineering College, Thrissur Alumni, Qatar (QGET), a Qatar-based Indian community forum, has officially announced the 4th edition of the Qatar Engineers Forum (QEST), scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Hotel Pullman Doha.
During a press conference held on Saturday, QGET President Tomy Varkey revealed that the upcoming summit will focus on the theme “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Project Management and Engineering.” The event aims to explore the transformative role of AI in engineering practices, project execution, and strategic planning across various sectors.
The forum will be inaugurated by HE Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, and is expected to host more than 250 technocrats and industry leaders from around the globe. Attendees will include representatives from government agencies, the oil and gas sector, public sector undertakings, international construction firms, and consulting organizations.
Providing further insight, QEST spokesperson Engineer Kshema Andrews highlighted the line-up of keynote speakers. Among them is Dr. Saurabh Mishra, Founder and CEO of Taiyō.AI, who has pioneered the largest data and AI platform for the construction industry. Dr. Mishra, who has held academic positions at UC Berkeley, the University of San Francisco, and Sciences Po, and served as Director of the AI Index at Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered AI, will speak on “AI as Cognitive Infrastructure: Rethinking Project Intelligence and Execution in Construction.”
Also featured among the speakers is Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark & Cyberpark Kerala and an alumnus of Government Engineering College, Thrissur. He will address AI’s impact on deep tech ecosystems, smart infrastructure, and sustainable urban innovation. Shijaz Abdulla Abdul Kareem, Regional Director for AI Apps at Microsoft Middle East & Africa, will provide a keynote on the “Evolution of Artificial Intelligence” in regional and global contexts.
QGET, founded in 2012, is a professional network of over 400 alumni from the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, including approximately 100 women engineers. The organization has members employed across a range of sectors in Qatar’s public and private domains. Through its QEST platform, QGET has consistently facilitated knowledge sharing and professional engagement with industry experts on relevant and emerging topics.
The forum also aligns with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, aiming to promote technical excellence, strategic industry dialogue, and community development.
As part of the event launch, the official logo of QEST 2025 was unveiled, marking the commencement of summit-related activities.
