From August 30 to September 2, Doha is hosting the German Business Season, an initiative aimed at strengthening the already strong economic relations between Germany and Qatar, while identifying new avenues for collaboration in future-focused sectors.

An 18-member business delegation from the German Near and Middle East Association (NUMOV e.V.) is leading the engagement, headed by Silvio Konrad, Chief Operating Officer for Energy & Resources at TÜV NORD GROUP. The delegation includes notable figures such as Vasim Benabdallah, Barkavi, Dr. Redha Enkert, Friedrich Klein, and Dr. Martin, along with senior executives from TÜV NORD EnSys GmbH & Co. KG and NUMOV.

Representing a broad spectrum of industries—including energy, engineering, digitalization, technology, circular economy, culture, and healthcare—the delegation features high-ranking representatives from major German companies such as TÜV NORD, SAP, Linde, and Steinway & Sons. In addition, the group includes SME owners and private investors actively involved in cross-border ventures.

Throughout the visit, the German delegation will hold strategic meetings with Qatari government officials, business associations, and private sector leaders. These engagements aim to further deepen bilateral ties, uncover new opportunities for cooperation, and explore potential joint projects across key sectors.

German Ambassador to Qatar, Hans-Udo Muzel, emphasized the importance of the visit, ‘Germany and Qatar already have excellent ties. NUMOV’s visit to Doha underlines even more the shared interest in further expanding economic cooperation – particularly in light of global challenges such as energy security and transition, diversification, and sustainable development’.

Delegation leader Silvio Konrad remarked from Berlin:
‘Germany and Qatar have enjoyed a close and trusting partnership for many years. With this delegation visit, we aim to set new impulses for joint projects and unlock the great potential of our economic cooperation, he added.

Founded in 1934, NUMOV e.V. is Germany’s oldest organization dedicated to fostering business relations with the Near and Middle East. It plays a vital role in supporting German companies in accessing regional markets and promoting dialogue between the business community and policymakers.
