Following the attack by Israel on Doha, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, condemned the incident as a grave violation of international norms. Speaking at a press conference, he described the attack as ‘state terrorism’ and a dangerous precedent in violating state sovereignty.

He emphasized that the attack targeted the headquarters of the political bureau of Hamas during ongoing negotiations, calling it a direct attempt to destabilize regional peace and a reckless act of aggression.

Qatar, he affirmed, would not tolerate any infringement upon its sovereignty and reserves the right to respond appropriately. The Prime Minister stressed that investigations have already begun under the directives of the Amir of Qatar, and a series of protective measures are being implemented. He also expressed condolences for Lance Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed Al Humaidi Al Dosari, who lost his life during the incident.

He said that a legal team, led by Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, has been formed to address the matter. Sheikh Mohammed said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pursuing a policy that threatens the stability of the entire region. He questioned whether Netanyahu intends to extend his destabilizing influence to the Gulf as well, warning that the region must respond collectively to such threats.

He further highlighted that this act exceeded all international legal and moral standards, especially given Qatar’s role as a neutral mediator. Despite being engaged in negotiations requested by the United States and known to the Israeli side, the attack occurred, which he argued undermines any genuine interest in peace.

In terms of communication, the Prime Minister noted that the U.S. informed Qatar of the incident only ten minutes after the explosion, while Qatari radar systems failed to detect the incoming strike. He dismissed circulated reports suggesting Qatar had prior knowledge of the attack, labeling them as misinformation, a point later confirmed by Dr. Majid bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister concluded by reaffirming Qatar's commitment to regional stability through legal and diplomatic means and emphasized that Qatari diplomacy remains grounded in principles of peace, sovereignty, and international law.

Several world leaders reached out to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to express their solidarity with the State of Qatar and to strongly condemn the recent attack on its sovereignty. During their phone conversations, the leaders emphasized the importance of respecting international law and reiterated that diplomatic solutions remain the most effective means to address ongoing challenges in the region.

Among those who spoke with Amir of State of Qatar include President of the United States, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the President of Türkiye, the President of Iran, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, along with other prominent leaders.

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the recent Israeli attack on a residential compound in Doha, which housed several members of Hamas’ political bureau, resulted in the death of Hammam Khalil Al Hayya, the son of senior Hamas official Khalil Al Hayya. The Ministry stated that following a thorough forensic investigation— including fingerprint analysis and the examination of evidence at the scene—authorities were able to positively identify the remains of Hammam Al Hayya.

The Ministry also reported that several civilians were injured in the attack and are currently receiving medical treatment. It extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, including both security personnel and civilians, and expressed hopes for the swift recovery of the injured.

Additionally, the Ministry emphasized that investigations are still ongoing to locate individuals who remain unaccounted for following the incident. Authorities continue to gather information, and further updates will be released as soon as new findings are confirmed.
