Qatar: Vintage Automobiles Steal Spotlight at Geneva Int'l Motor Show Qatar 2023

Vintage automobiles under 'World's Greatest Motorcars' pavilion displaying 13 world's top vintage cars collected from around the world steal the spotlight of the Geneva International Motor Show Qatar inaugurated on Oct 6 at theDoha Exhibition and Convention Center, West Bay Doha.

In addition, a number of automobiles new brands took the opportunity to participate, and make dealership agreements in the exhibition opened on Friday. Itwill run until October 14. Among these include handmade cars by Delage Automobiles from France, Lynk & Co's luxury Chinese-European automotive company and for land Cruiser enthusiasts, Abdulghani Motors launched the Cruiser base project, offering Land Cruiser customers in Qatar the ability to modify their cars or add accessories to enhance the appearance and make it more fun to drive. Among these include the Toyota Miral, Toyota BZ4X, Lexus UX 300e, and Special edition V10 of Land Cruiser GR.

Curatorial Director of 'World's Greatest Motorcars' Mohammed Luqman Ali Khan discovered the ‘Star Car Of The Show’, the late Amir HH Ahmed Bin Ali Al Thani’s Rolls-RoycePhantom V Chassis5LCG25 bought new from the 1962 Geneva MotorShow drawing it's presence with the Geneva International Motor Show Qatar 2023.

Curator and the organiser of the pavilion, Mohammed Luqman Ali Khan told Qatar Tribune that this year 13 cars are participating, whereas, he has planned to display much large number of great world cars next year in Qatar. Khan is a Britain-educated Indian-born Gulf-based Author, Curator & Motoring Historian. He is a member of the Society of Motoring Historians (USA) and the Guild of Motoring Writers (UK). Khan is the founder and CEO of ML CONSULTING, a business specialising in concours d’elegance events and collector car sales.

He is the co-author of THE KEY 2022, a report on the classic car world with the ranking of the ‘Top 100 Classic Car Collectors of the World’. It is published in Europe annually by The Classic Car Trust (TCCT). Luqman’s long-held relationships with top car collectors of the world give him access to the greatest motorcars and help him persuade them to participate in events worldwide.

Formerly a TV News professional, Luqman has over three decades of experience in chronicling and researching veteran, Edwardian, vintage and classic cars – a subject he is passionate about. He has successfully curated and has been consulted by several organisers of motoring events around the world. As a Motoring journalist, he has written for the world’s leading automobile magazines and books and has featured in numerous videos.

Luqman is officially authorised by ‘1000 MIGLIA’ based in Italy to plan & organise the legendary “Mille Miglia” race in Qatar. He has access to the world’s top concours d’elegance events and top car collectors, which enables him to invite and enlist the world’s greatest motorcars, as a result of his personal relationships.

He is a world-renowned expert on historic cars including that of Sheikhs, Maharajas and historic Arabian cars. He has authored books entitled ‘Automobiles of the Nizams’ and ‘Auto Royale - The British International Concours d’Elegance’. A Google search of Luqman’s name shows his staggering achievements, including discoveries he made of historic automobiles.
