The Pakistani community in Qatar came together to celebrate festivities of holy month of Ramadan and Eid AlFitr 1446H coincided with 85th National Day of Pakistan celebrations. A series of events are scheduled by the Embassy of Pakistan in Qatar and various community forums, fostering an atmosphere of unity, reflection, and national pride.
As part of the national day celebrations, the Embassy of Pakistan hosted an Iftar dinner on the evening of March 23 in honor of the community. Earlier in the day, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the embassy premises, led by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Aamer, in the presence of embassy officials, staff, and their families. A contingent of the Pakistani defense forces on deputation saluted the national flag.
In the evening, Iftar Dinner hosted by Pakistan embassy celebrating the National Day of Pakistan was attended by a large number of Pakistani professionals, businessmen, members of academia, and their families from both the public and private sectors. A special prayer for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity was offered, followed by a warm and festive Iftar and dinner. The gathering reinforced the shared identity and collective responsibility of the community in promoting national unity and representing Pakistan with pride abroad.
During his address, Ambassador Aamer extended his congratulations to the community and underscored the historical significance of March 23, 1940—the day the Lahore Resolution was passed, laying the foundation for Pakistan’s creation. He paid tribute to the country’s founding fathers and emphasized the values of unity, faith, and discipline. Acknowledging the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Qatar, he praised their hard work and role in strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Qatar.
Qatar based 'Pakistan Welfare Forum', a community forum engaged in supporting needy and low-income Pakistani community members in Qatar in regards to their educational, social welfare, medical and legal needs in collaboration with Qatar Charity (QC) hosted its annual fundraising SUHOUR Dinner at a Hotel in Doha.
Among the participants were Fareed Khalil Siddiqui, Head of Local Project Dept, Qatar Charity (QC); Khalid Fakhroo, former QC representative; Mohammed Ali Al Maal, Head of Help Desk, QC; Abdul Azeez Alardashi, Coordinator Collection Dept, QC; Ibrahim Al Muftah, Head of Fundraising Department, QC; Khaled Sajjad Bhatti, President PWF; Osama Idrees, Community Welfare Attaché, Pakistan Embassy; founding members of PWF; a large Pakistani community members from various sectors - professionals, businessmen, and philanthropists.
Mohammad Israr Malazai, PWF’s founding President and Founding Executive Committee (FEC) member paid his gratitude to various Qatar government entities including Qatar Charity, Education Above All and others on their continued valuable support in previous years. He acknowledged the dedication of attendees and urged continued community support.
He thanked Qatar Charity on facilitating various services for receiving donations to enhance ongoing welfare efforts.
Farid Khalil Siddiqui and Khalid Fakhroo of Qatar Charity stressed the significance of charitable acts, particularly during Ramadan.
Osama Idrees praised the Pakistani community’s support towards it's needy members in society.. He reaffirmed that PWF will have continued support of Pakistan Embassy in it's noble services.
PWF President Khalid Sajjad Bhatti recognized the Steering Committee's efforts, presented a brief report of PWF services during the last year and outlined the contributions of various sub-committees.
PWF FEC member Riyaz Ahmed Bakali emphasized PWF’s core objectives, including education, social welfare, and aid for low-income Pakistani expatriates. He highlighted the establishment of Assalam Schools in collaboration with key organizations, offering free education in Qatar.
PWF FEC member Chaudhary Parvez Iqbal inspired attendees with religious references, on the importance of generous donations for the needy members of the society.
Sohni Dharti, a long years old AlKhor based Pakistani community forum organized it's traditional annual vibrant and colorful Eid Bazaar at Al Waha Club, Al-Khor Community. The annual event aimed to provide a festive shopping experience, entertainment, and opportunities for social engagement.
The bazaar was officially inaugurated by Pakistan's Ambassador Muhammad Aamer in the presence of Sohni Dharti Chairman Anwar Ali Rana, community representatives, and embassy officials, including Community Welfare Attachés Osama Idrees and Mohsin Raza Qureshi; Executive members of Sohni Dharti, including Vice President Umar Khayyam, General Secretary Mohsin Ali, Sports Secretary Zafar Chandio, and Cultural & Finance Secretary Masoodudin, were also in attendance.
The event featured a diverse range of stalls offering traditional and modern clothing, jewelry, footwear, home decor, and festive accessories. Mehndi (henna) stalls remained a major attraction, as women and young girls adorned their hands with intricate designs. Children enjoyed various activities, including games, face painting, and toy shopping, adding to the festive ambiance.
Cultural performances by children from the Sohni Dharti forum, along with a special tableau highlighting the spirit of Ramadan, were among the key highlights of the event. The bazaar witnessed a significant turnout, with families and individuals enjoying the lively atmosphere. Vendors reported positive sales, while attendees appreciated the variety of products and entertainment on offer.
The Eid Bazaar proved to be a resounding success, bringing joy and excitement to the community. As the celebrations continued, the event served as a reminder of the values of togetherness, generosity, and cultural heritage during this special time of the year.
