Over 60 Dead, Dozens Injured In Suicidal & Gunmen Attacks At Kabul Airport; Taliban, US Condemned

Atleast 60 people killed, dozens injured in two suicidal blasts in the perimeters of Kabul Airport today, Thursday. US defense department confirmed deaths of 12 US marines and 15 injured.

One blast happened at the Abbey Gate of the airport and second neat Hotel Baron, where US, British and other nationals were asked to gather to catch their evacuation flights.

ISIS-K,  ' Islamic State in Khorasan Province, ISKP (ISIS-K)', an Afghanistan based terror group against the foreign occupation and of the Taliban claimed the responsibility of today's attacks. Arab origins based group  has been targeting mainly the Shia-Afghans.

In a press release by Suhail Shaheen, Spokesperson, Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan while strongly condemning the gruesome incident said 13 persons have been killed and 52 wounded in two blasts in area managed by US forces.

He said that Taliban will take every step to bring the culprits to justice. However, various media reports confirmed more than 60 Afghan killed and dozens wounded.

US President Joe Biden met media representatives in White House said he was heartbroken and vowed to retaliate to the violence. He warned the terrorists and said 'We will not forgive ' We will not forget' 'We will hunt you down' and make you pay'.

Joe Biden mentioned that he is stick with his 31st August withdrawal deadline.

Turkey’s troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan, where they have run Kabul’s international airport for the last six years, abandoning a plan to remain after the U.S. withdrawal.

“We aim to complete the transfer of soldiers in the shortest possible time,” Hulusi Akar, Turkey’s defense minister, said in a statement on Thursday.

He thanked Pakistan and Tajikistan for their cooperation in the evacuation of troops.
