'We will be able to meet local demand of present 300 tons of daily fresh milk and other dairy needs by March/April of 2018', told by John Joseph Dore, Chief Executive Officer of Baladna Livestock.

Dore said that presently local dairy houses are meeting about 15 % of daily need and prior to blocked of Qatar since 5th of June 2017 by neighboring country of Saudi Arabia, most of the dairy items were met from import of Saudi Arabia and some from United Arab Emirates..

During media visit to the farm facilities this morning to witness the newly arrived first batch of 165 cows last night on-board Qatar Airways cargo flight from Budapest, Dore told that he expects receiving of total 4,000 cows by November this year, mostly from United States of America, Baladna will be ready to cover around 30% of the local needs.

He told that Qatar needs around 25,000 of animals to meet it's local needs of dairy items and meet. There are nearly 5,000 cows in Qatar from which only 15 % of local market needs can be met.

Baladna Livestock CEO hoped that by March/April 2018, Baladna Livestock Farm will be ready to supply complete needs both dairy and meet to the local market of State of Qatar and onward we do not have to look for importing anymore. He said that Baladna products are of required international quality and standard which other available products in the market do not match.
